Melbourne Civic Theatre begins its fifth season of new play readings with Edward Albee's THE PLAY ABOUT THE BABY on Saturday, August 18, at 2 p.m.

We are happy to announce an outstanding cast for this reading. Taking the role of the Woman will be Brevard theatre chronicler, champion, playwright and director Pam Harbaugh, the Boy and Girl will be read by Richard A. Klenotich II and Chelsea Morgan, respectively, and the Man will be read by Dónaco Smyth.

By turns funny, mysterious and disturbing, THE PLAY ABOUT THE BABY concerns a young couple who have just had a baby, and the strange turn of events that transpire when they are visited by an older man and woman.

"An invaluable self-portrait of sorts from one of the few genuinely great American dramatists … BABY rockets into that special corner of theater heaven where words shoot off like fireworks into dazzling patterns and hues." —NY Times.
