MCT Dance Workshop
Thinking about auditioning for Melbourne Civic Theatre (MCT)’s production of Nine? Or just love dancing to musical theatre songs? We’re excited to announce a dance workshop leading up to auditions for Nine!
This workshop is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, improve stamina, and get comfortable learning choreography in a supportive, energetic environment. Whether you are a seasoned performer or looking to build confidence before auditions, these sessions are designed to help you grow. Participation in the dance workshop does not guarantee being cast in Nine. You do not have to attend this clinic to audition for Nine, auditions are open to anyone.
What to expect:
Each class includes a warm-up, strength and technique conditioning, and choreographed routines from popular musicals.
Who should attend:
Performers interested in auditioning for Nine, musical theatre lovers, and anyone wanting to strengthen their dance skills in a welcoming class setting. This class is welcome to dancers of all experience levels and is limited to ages 18 and up.
Space is limited, early registration is encouraged. Tuition is nonrefundable. In the event the class reaches capacity, we will consider adding a second session. About Nine:
This Tony Award®–winning Best Musical, follows famed director Guido Contini, suffering from “director’s block” on his latest film and from a strained marriage, as he retreats into his mind, where women from his past and present bombard his senses and throw reality into question.
The cast of Nine includes one male lead who must be a triple threat, a boy who plays the younger version, and up to 16 women (18+) as supporting leads and ensemble, with varying age, vocal, and movement ranges.
Auditions for Nine will be held at MCT on Sunday and Monday, May 31 and June 1 at 7 p.m., the show will run from July 31-September 6. More information will be provided about auditions at a later date.
